When you think of Dubai, you more than likely thinking of the leading trade hub for the whole Middle East. However, Dubai now has bigger things on their mind. In fact, Dubai is hoping to secure its spot on the list of top tourist destinations. Thus comes the launch of a new theme park, which will be called DubaiLand. Dubailand, which is being created by Six Flags, will be the biggest tourist destination that has ever been created. The hope is that this big amusement park will appeal to people from all over the world. This includes people of all nationalities and, of course, all age groups. When Dubailand is finished, it will be twice the size of the well known Walt Disney World in the United States. This will make Dubailand the largest amusement park in the whole world! Phase one of the project was started back in 2007, and it will keep going until 2010. The final phase of the project will be completed by 2018 Just like in a lot of theme parks, DubaiLand will be broken up into six different theme areas. All of these areas will focus on some different aspect. Each area will be referred to as a “world” when the park opens up. One of the main worlds, the Attractions and Experience World, will feature a lot of the larger themed attractions using all of the latest technology. This world alone will cover over 145 square feet. Inside this world alone, you are going to find 14 different projects. From there you can make your way to the Sports and Outdoor World. This is going to include a mix of different sporting venues and will actually incorporate international games. The hope is that this area will become a prime area for sports teams to train at, which would really help to increase the appeal. This world is going to cover over 206 million square feet and have 5 major projects inside. This includes things like Extreme Sports World, Polo World, and Golf World. Others may want to head on over to the Eco Tourism World. This is going to be a great world that actually covers nature and desert attractions. The great thing about this area is that it will appeal to many people and bring tons of people back for a repeat visit. This world will cover over 806 million square feet alone! Inside you will find 12 different projects, including a Petting Zoo, Dinosaur World, and the Science and History Museum. There will also be a desert safari area, which is one reason for the huge size of this one world. Another world that is sure to amaze people is the Downtown World. This is going to be a place that puts together a great feel of both entertainment and eating out. This is like a night on the town gone mad! You will be able to do everything from watch movies to bowl. It's like its own little city inside an amazement park. People are going to have to make many trips to this theme park in order to see everything that it has to offer. |
